When a project requires API 13A, OCMA or another acceptance standard, the supplied grade and COA should be checked against that requirement.
High-yield language should be supported by measured suspension and rheological performance rather than assumed from the product name.
Hardness, salinity and pH can materially change bentonite hydration and apparent field performance.
Do not select drilling bentonite from one number
Useful selection inputs include the required standard, mixing water, target rheology, filtration behavior, solids programme, hole size, drilling method and whether polymers will be used to extend or modify the bentonite system.
