PELLETONITE consists of high-quality bentonite pellets compressed under high pressure and coated with special materials that provide controlled-release properties. PELLETONITE can be applied directly into the well in cases of total loss circulation and allowed to swell, or it can be mixed into the drilling fluid using appropriate pumping methods and injected into the loss zone. With a swelling capacity of up to 40 times its original volume, PELLETONITE is used both for loss circulation control in leaking wells and for providing sealing prior to cementing in abandoned wells, as well as for well plugging and abandonment operations.
